The Struggles We Faced: Balancing Faith, Education, and Daily Life π‘π
2 minute read
Bismillah: As we continued our homeschooling journey with four children, we encountered challenges that tested our patience, creativity, and faith. Balancing the demands of educating our children while ensuring that our home remained a place of spiritual growth was not always easy, but it was an experience that brought us closer together as a family. πΌ
Challenges Along the Way π±
- Time Management: With each child at different stages of learning, managing our time effectively became a significant challenge. We struggled to find the right balance between structured lessons, playtime, and the day-to-day responsibilities of running a household. There were days when it felt overwhelming, and we had to remind ourselves to take it one step at a time. β°
- Consistency in Faith Practices: Keeping up with daily Quranic recitations, prayers, and Islamic teachings required consistency and dedication. Some days, we found it challenging to maintain the rhythm, especially when life got busy. However, we always made an effort to return to our faith practices, knowing they were the foundation of our childrenβs education.
- Parental Burnout: As parents, we sometimes felt the weight of being both educators and caregivers. There were moments of burnout when we questioned whether we were doing enough or if we were on the right path. During these times, we leaned on each other for support and sought strength in our faith, trusting that Allah was guiding us.
One particularly challenging time was when all four children fell ill around the same time. Juggling their care, maintaining the household, and trying to keep up with their lessons seemed impossible. We learned to prioritize their well-being, realizing that sometimes, the best lesson was teaching them the value of patience and trust in Allah during difficult times. π
Overcoming Struggles with Iqrasaurus π¦
This phase of our journey emphasized the Impart pillar, as we shared our struggles and how we overcame them with the support of our faith. We learned that itβs okay to slow down, adjust our plans, and focus on what truly mattersβraising our children with love, patience, and a strong connection to Allah.
As Allah says in the Quran:
"So verily, with the hardship, there is relief." (Surah Ash-Sharh, 94:6) π
This verse reminded us that every struggle we faced came with the promise of ease, and this belief carried us through the toughest times.
A Peek Into Our Conversations π¨οΈ
Syauqi: "Ummi, why do we sometimes have to skip lessons when things get busy?"
Ummi Ziehan: "Because sometimes life brings challenges, and we have to take care of each other first. But even when we pause, weβre still learning important lessons, like patience and kindness."
Nurin: "I like that we always come back to our Quran time, even after a break."
Daddy Ikram: "MashaAllah, thatβs right, Nurin. And remember, itβs okay to rest and take things slow when we need to."
End Note: Balancing faith, education, and daily life can be challenging, but with patience and trust in Allah, we can overcome any obstacle. Join us next time as we explore how Quranic stories shaped our childrenβs worldview and inspired their love for learning. ππ
