The First Quranic Doodle: Syauqiโs Imagination Takes Flight ๐จ
1 minute read
Bismillah: One day, while we were discussing the story of Prophet Yunus (AS) and the whale, Syauqi suddenly grabbed his crayons and began drawing the story. What started as a simple activity soon turned into something much moreโhis imagination took flight! ๐๐๏ธ
Doodling Quranic Stories ๐
- Bringing Stories to Life: Syauqiโs doodles became his way of understanding the Quran. By drawing what he was learning, he started to engage with the stories on a deeper level, turning them into personal adventures.
- Encouraging Creativity: We encouraged him to doodle after each Quranic lesson, whether it was Prophet Musa (AS) parting the sea or Prophet Ibrahim (AS) seeing the stars. His drawings werenโt just picturesโthey were expressions of faith and understanding. ๐๐
- A Fun and Effective Method: What began as simple doodling became an important tool for learning. Syauqi was able to retain more of the stories, connecting visual elements to the lessons he was learning. This was the birth of the Iqrasaurus doodling method.
One of Syauqiโs earliest doodles was of Prophet Nuhโs ark with animals walking two by two. His enthusiasm in bringing the story to life through art showed us that creative expression could be a powerful way to internalize Quranic lessons. ๐๐ฆ
The Power of Creativity ๐ฆ
This was when we realized the power of doodling in Quranic education. It wasnโt just about memorizationโit was about truly understanding and Inspiring a deeper connection to the stories of the Quran. Syauqiโs doodles became a core part of our learning process.
As the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:
"Allah is beautiful, and He loves beauty." ๐ธ
Through Syauqiโs doodles, we saw the beauty in expressing oneโs connection to Allahโs stories in unique and personal ways.
A Peek Into Our Conversations ๐จ๏ธ
Syauqi: "Look, Ummi! I drew Prophet Yunus inside the whale!"
Ummi Ziehan: "MashaAllah, Syauqi! Thatโs wonderful! And what did Prophet Yunus do inside the whale?"
Syauqi: "He prayed to Allah, and Allah helped him!"
Daddy Ikram: "Exactly! And your drawing helps remind you of the story and how important it is to always ask Allah for help."
Syauqi: "Iโm going to draw more stories, Daddy!" ๐๏ธ๐
End Note: Creativity allows children to connect with the Quran in personal and meaningful ways. In our next post, weโll share how we developed simple educational tools to make Quranic concepts even more engaging for Syauqi! ๐๐
