Reflecting on the First Year: What Worked and What Didn’t πŸ“…βœ¨

2 minute read

Bismillah: As we reached the end of our first year of this beautiful journey with Syauqi, it was time to reflect on what had worked well and where we could improve. Reflecting allowed us to see the progress we made and the challenges we still needed to address. 🌟

What Worked Well 🌱

  • Storytelling Success: The Quranic stories had a profound impact on Syauqi. He not only enjoyed them but also started applying the lessons in his daily life. This confirmed that Inspiration through stories was a powerful way to teach.
  • Doodles and Games: Both doodling and game-based learning became essential tools in our approach. They made Quranic concepts more relatable and fun, encouraging Syauqi to engage deeply with the lessons. 🎨🎲
  • Family Bonding: Integrating these learning activities into our daily routine not only helped Syauqi but also strengthened our family bond. Learning together became a joyful experience for all of us.

Challenges and Lessons Learned πŸ“

  • Consistency: One of our challenges was maintaining consistency in our daily lessons. Life with young children is unpredictable, and there were days when it was difficult to stick to our planned activities.
  • Balancing Modern and Traditional: While we made strides in blending modern educational methods with traditional Quranic teachings, finding the perfect balance was an ongoing process. We needed to ensure that neither aspect overshadowed the other.
  • Patience and Flexibility: We learned that patience and flexibility were key. Not every day would go as planned, and that was okay. We had to adapt our methods to suit the moment, whether it meant shortening a lesson or turning a planned activity into free play.

Moving Forward with Iqrasaurus πŸ¦–

This reflection marked the beginning of a new chapter for Iqrasaurus. We realized that while our methods were effective, there was always room for improvement. Our focus for the next year was to build on what worked, address the challenges, and continue growing together as a family.

As the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:

"The best deeds are those done regularly, even if they are small." 🌟

This reminder encouraged us to keep moving forward, even in small steps, as long as we remained consistent in our efforts.

A Peek Into Our Conversations πŸ—¨οΈ

Syauqi: "Ummi, why don’t we always do the stories every night?"

Ummi Ziehan: "Sometimes we get busy, but we always come back to them, right? Even small steps are important."

Daddy Ikram: "That’s why we do a little bit every day, so we can keep learning and growing together."

Syauqi: "I like that, Daddy. It makes me happy to learn new things with you!" 🌟

End Note: Reflecting on our journey helps us grow stronger and wiser. Join us next time as we explore how we continued to spark curiosity in Syauqi with our lessons! πŸ”πŸ“š
