Our Doodling Toolbox: Resources for Parents and Educators π§°π¨
2 minute read
Bismillah: Over the years, we developed various tools and resources to make Quranic learning engaging for our children. As other families expressed interest in our methods, we decided to compile these resources into a comprehensive toolbox that parents and educators could use to teach the Quran in a fun and creative way. π
Whatβs Inside the Toolbox? π±
- Doodle Templates: We created printable templates that guide children in illustrating Quranic stories. These templates include outlines of key scenes and characters, making it easy for kids to start doodling while learning. Whether itβs the story of Prophet Nuh (AS) and the ark or the parting of the Red Sea, these templates provide a visual aid to help children connect with the lessons. πποΈ
- Interactive Story Maps: Our story maps combine doodling with storytelling. Each map takes children on a journey through a specific Quranic story, encouraging them to fill in the blanks with their own drawings and thoughts. This interactive approach helps children internalize the stories by actively participating in their retelling. πΊοΈ
- Activity Sheets: We designed activity sheets that complement Quranic lessons, including puzzles, matching games, and drawing prompts. These sheets reinforce the lessons in a playful way, making learning a more immersive experience. Theyβre perfect for both classroom settings and at-home learning. π²
One of the most popular tools in our toolbox is the "Prophetβs Companions Doodle Book," which provides a space for children to doodle their favorite stories about the Sahabah. This book has been a favorite among both parents and educators, as it combines creativity with meaningful learning. π
Sharing Our Resources with Iqrasaurus π¦
This phase emphasized the Impart and Inspire pillars, as we aimed to share our tools and resources with a broader audience. By making these resources available to other families and educators, we hoped to spread the joy of learning the Quran through creative means.
As Allah says in the Quran:
"And let there be [arising] from you a nation inviting to [all that is] good, enjoining what is right and forbidding what is wrong, and those will be the successful." (Surah Al-Imran, 3:104) π
This verse motivated us to continue sharing our knowledge and resources, helping others on their journey of Quranic education.
A Peek Into Our Conversations π¨οΈ
Syauqi: "Ummi, can we share our doodle books with my friends at the masjid?"
Ummi Ziehan: "Of course, Syauqi! We made these books to help everyone learn about the Quran in a fun way."
Nurin: "I love the activity sheets! Can we do more of them?"
Daddy Ikram: "MashaAllah, Nurin! We have plenty of activity sheets in the toolbox. Letβs pick a new one to do together."
End Note: Our doodling toolbox is designed to make Quranic learning engaging and accessible for everyone. Join us next time as we review the impact these tools have had over the past year and the feedback weβve received from families and educators. π§°π
