Introducing Nurin: A New Addition and New Challenges πΈ
1 minute read
Bismillah: In February 2009, our family grew with the arrival of our beautiful daughter, Nurin. With a new baby in the house, our Quranic journey took on new dimensions, bringing both joy and fresh challenges. π
Adapting to a Growing Family πΌ
- Balancing Time and Attention: With Syauqi now three years old and eager to share everything heβd learned, we had to find creative ways to balance our time and attention between him and Nurin. It was a delicate dance of keeping Syauqi engaged while introducing Nurin to the sounds of the Quran. πΆ
- New Beginnings for Nurin: We began introducing Quranic recitations to Nurin through soft lullabies and gentle recitations. Syauqi loved joining in, often humming along with his favorite verses, making it a bonding experience for both siblings. π΅
- Learning Through Play: As Syauqi continued his Quranic education, we found ways to involve Nurin, even in her infancy. Simple games like peek-a-boo were paired with Quranic phrases, making her early interactions with faith playful and comforting.
One particularly heartwarming moment was when Syauqi gently placed his hand on Nurinβs head and recited a short verse from Surah Al-Fatiha. It was a spontaneous act of love and protection, showing how deeply he was internalizing what he had learned. πΈ
Expanding the Iqrasaurus Journey π¦
With Nurinβs arrival, we embraced the Integrate approach even more, ensuring that the Quran was a natural part of our everyday interactions. Whether it was through lullabies, play, or simple family moments, we aimed to make faith the foundation of her early experiences.
As Allah says in the Quran:
"And We have certainly made the Quran easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember?" (Surah Al-Qamar, 54:17) π
This verse served as a gentle reminder that even in the busyness of life with two young children, making the Quran a part of our daily routine was not only possible but essential.
A Peek Into Our Conversations π¨οΈ
Syauqi: "Ummi, can I sing to Nurin like you do?"
Ummi Ziehan: "Of course, Syauqi! Why donβt you sing her a verse from the Quran? She loves hearing your voice."
Nurin: (Giggling and reaching out to Syauqi)
Daddy Ikram: "MashaAllah, Syauqi, youβre doing a great job teaching your little sister already!" π
End Note: Balancing time and attention with a growing family can be challenging, but it also brings countless blessings. Join us next time as we explore how Syauqi became Nurinβs first teacher in our Quranic journey! ππΈ
