From Stories to Lessons: Introducing Quranic Tales to Syauqi ๐
2 minute read
Bismillah: As Syauqi grew, we discovered that stories were the perfect way to introduce him to the teachings of the Quran. ๐ Stories have a magical way of capturing a childโs imagination, and we wanted to use that magic to plant seeds of faith in Syauqiโs heart.
Turning Tales into Lessons ๐ฑ
- Engaging the Imagination: We started with the most captivating Quranic talesโlike the story of Prophet Yunus (AS) in the belly of the whale, or Prophet Musa (AS) and the parting of the Red Sea. Syauqi loved these stories, and they became a bedtime favorite. ๐ณ๐
- Connecting Stories to Life: After each story, we would take a moment to connect the lessons to Syauqiโs everyday experiences. For example, when sharing the story of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and the fire, we talked about how Allah protects us when we trust Him. ๐ฅ
- Building a Moral Compass: These stories werenโt just entertainingโthey were a gentle way to introduce Syauqi to important values like trust, patience, and gratitude.
One night, after hearing the story of Prophet Nuh (AS) and the ark, Syauqi asked, โWhy did Prophet Nuh build a boat?โ We explained how Prophet Nuh trusted Allahโs guidance, even when others doubted him, and how important it is to follow whatโs right, no matter what others say. ๐ข

This period marked a shift in our approachโwe realized that these stories were more than just tales. They were powerful tools to Inspire and guide Syauqi in his early understanding of faith. Through these stories, we saw his moral compass start to take shape, and his love for the Quran deepened.
As Allah says in the Quran:
"We relate to you, [O Muhammad], the best of stories in what We have revealed to you of this Quran although you were, before it, among the unaware." (Surah Yusuf, 12:3) ๐น
This verse reminded us of the importance of storytelling in conveying the timeless wisdom of the Quran to young minds.
A Peek Into Our Conversations ๐จ๏ธ
Syauqi: "Ummi, why did Prophet Nuh (AS) build a big boat?"
Ummi Ziehan: "Because Allah told him to, and he trusted Allah, even when others didnโt understand."
Daddy Ikram: "Just like how you trust us when we ask you to do something, even if you donโt know why yet."
Syauqi: "So, itโs good to trust Allah, right?"
Ummi Ziehan: "Exactly, my dear! Trusting Allah is always the best choice." ๐
